Picture this: 60 students, endless PDFs scattered across folders, and me frantically trying to remember who needs what homework. Sound familiar? I'm Rob, a guitar teacher from Zurich, and I was drowning in musical chaos.

The breaking point came on a Tuesday evening. I was manually emailing sheet music to my 43rd student of the week when I realized: There has to be a better way. That's when my engineering mind kicked in.

I tried everything – existing platforms, self-hosted solutions, even converting Markdown to PDF (don't ask!). But nothing gave me the dynamic, personalized experience my students deserved.

The breaking point? I ended up paying for five different services just to have everything covered – one for file storage, another for student communication, a third for progress tracking, and so on. It was so confusing for students and parents, and so expensive for me, that I had to completely rethink everything about my "modern teaching."

From humble beginnings to big dreams - here's where we are and where we're going.

Where We Are Now

At the moment, I'm running the entire app on a dedicated server. It works — but it's just the beginning.

All core features are already available, and you can use everything for free with 10 GB of included storage. Backups are performed every 4 hours to an S3-compatible server, and you have full control over your teaching materials.

But reliability and flexibility can still be improved — especially for schools and teachers who rely on the system daily.

Where We're Headed

The goal is to invest in additional servers as funding allows — to make the app even more reliable, faster, and scalable for growing usage.

We're also working on enhancing the backup system with individual restore options for teachers, in case something ever gets deleted or overwritten.

Another major step will be the integration of dedicated AI servers. These will help review lessons, suggest new teaching ideas, and assist with personalized planning.

For example, you could ask: "What should Student 1 learn next?" — and the AI will analyze the student's progress and suggest a fitting next step.

It will even be able to generate full learning paths and respond to more complex questions over time.

The Vision

This is just the beginning — the vision is to build something truly smart and supportive for modern music educators.
